Trip 2 for operative leaders

The aim of the practical package is to work together to reduce exposure to chemicals that are harmful to health. The OIM is responsible for planning and carrying out the activities.

1) Plan the task together

2) Discuss the reflection questions below

3) Do the self-evaluation at the bottom of the page

4) Complete the task

Task

Choose a specific task that is scheduled for trip 2. Set aside time for a pre-job dialogue and invite a safety delegate to join you. Focus on the risk of exposure to chemicals: What is the task? Which requirements apply? What can go wrong? When do we stop work? What do we need to work safely?

Write an OBS card to share what you have learnt about exposure to chemicals that are harmful to health.

Carry out an inspection of the workplace, use the pocket card to support the discussion and make use of other relevant tools such as COW. Revised requirements for the management of chemical exposure have also been published.
